General Seafood helpful facts and hints.
Fresh fish and shell fish should be used within 2 to 3 days. Once cooked, fish can be stored additional 3 to 4 days. Shell fish should be used within 2 days. To freeze fish, a vacuum food sealer is best. The other option is to freeze in zip lock plastic bags with enough water in the bag to cover the fish. To thaw, place frozen fish in the refrigerator 1 to 2 days before using. A generous adult serving for steak or fillet is 8 ounces for whole fish or 3/4 pound for dressed fish.
